Flat Screen TV – Buying the right TV for your needs
Buying a flat screen TV is no easy task especially if you’ll not sure on what type of flat screen television you want. Do you want an LCD or plasma?
What size screen would you like as there many different sizes to choose from, sizes going from 15″ to 50″. To make it easier for you to decide I have included some flat screen TV buying tips that I feel will really help you choose the right television.
Which is the best Flat Screen TV – LCD or Plasma
now this has been ongoing battle between these two types of television with technology changing all the time the quality of these TVs gets better all the time.
Plasma TV’s an important thing to point out here is the Plasma has a wide viewing angle. So if have a larger than average sitting room the people sat to the right or left of the TV can watch it in the same quality as someone sat directly in front. You won’t get this with a LCD TV as the picture quality with diminish quite considerably vied from an angle.
The another important factor to take in to consideration is what are you actually going to use the flat screen TV for, well obviously watching TV, but did you know that plasma is probably not the ideal TV for video gaming. The reason for this, is while playing certain games they static graphics on screen, while they may appear harmless they can do damage to the screen itself. If video gaming is conducted over long periods of time the static image like a score count it will burn an image on to the screen.
Plasma flat screen TVs are know better for having high contrast and deep colour levels. This is more noticeable when watching movies and favorite TV shows; the true colours appear life like you will be able to in fine detail, even in those dark scenes.
There used be a great difference in price between the plasma and LCD TVs but now have pretty much leveled off on a par. A lot of people probably don’t think about the running cost of a flat screen TV but did you know that a plasma TV cost more to run than a LCD TV? The monthly running cost maybe minimal but in today’s economic climate I’m sure you’ll agree that every penny saved really counts.
With this you could say that a LCD TV is the greener option. If you have a video gaming fanatic in the house hold then flat screen TV maybe the better option. And also better in lighter rooms as you won’t get the reflection problem which can be very annoying especially if you have to close the curtains on a regular basis. The LCD has the better clearer picture than the plasma in all aspects so it is the outright winner for picture quality in my opinion.
Prices for both plasma and LCD TV’s are coming down on daily basis you really can get some great bargain, doing a little comparison shopping or find flat screen tv reviews.Even though they have come down in price you’ll still going to spend around £300 to £500 mark still a lot of money for a luxury item.
